Clare has been extensively involved in the research and development of training programmes and Montessori schools for Infant/toddlers (0-3 years) and Adolescent (12-18 years). Her personal interest in Jungian psychology and BodySoul Rhythms (as developed by Marion Woodman, Canada) has encouraged her to use Maria Montessori’s philosophy for people of all ages, highlighting the common themes of life from birth to adulthood.
She received an MA in Education (Management) from the Open University where she learned how to make flexible and online learning support Maria Montessori’s philosophy for life and learning. She also holds Montessori St. Nicholas teaching diplomas for pre-school and school. She has five children and nine grandchildren and lives in Ireland.

Thank you to the many people who inspired me as I learned about the Montessori philosophy over a period of 40 years. I want to pay tribute to the Montessori trainers who taught me the basics, with a special word for the appreciation of Mrs. Sighle Fitzgerald, who inspired and still inspires me and many others worldwide, together with Mrs. Connie Fahey who left this world a better place for Montessori students and children.
The work of Maria Montessori herself continues to re-inspire me every year but my understanding came through much exploration, day and night, at work and at wonderful parties, with colleagues who have become lifelong friends in Oslo, Gothenburg and Cork. Montessori is a practical science therefore I owe a great deal to the Montessori educators, trainee educators and children with whom I have worked with, in many places, over the years, not least my own loving children who allowed me to learn as they grew. I want to give a special word of thanks to Garrett, Steve and Michal in Original Writing for their creativity, guidance and patience. Lastly thank you to Kerry who portrayed the simple yet profound essence of Montessori's work in her creative book cover image.
